A new-generation land cover analysis tool
Infoterra France has developed the Overland software package that automatically extracts biophysical parameters from a wide range of spaceborne and airborne sensors. Overland has an autonomous production capability.

Biophysical parameters convey pertinent information about the physical properties of vegetation, water and soil, and provide new interpretation keys for agronomists, agriculture and forest managers, land cover and land use experts.

In addition, biophysical parameters are key inputs for diverse models, including yield prediction and irrigation models, both of which create highly added-value information products.

By embedding mapping tools, like classification tools in the software package, Overland allows clients to easily produce land cover maps.

With this innovative approach in your hands, Overland allows anyone the possibility to create accurate environmental analysis. Simply define your thematic context: area of interest, parameters sought, etc.

Biophysical parameter themes:

  Vegetation: green cover fraction, brown cover fraction, Leaf area index;
  Chlorophyll concentration, FAPAR, etc.;
  Soil: soil cover fraction, soil brightness;
  Water: water fraction, water optical depth, chlorophyll concentration;
  Atmosphere: visibility distance, water vapour concentration.
