Digital photogrammetry

Infoterra improves digital photogrammetry.

Digital photogrammetry is used to measure the precise dimensions of surface of our Earth, such as the area of a farmer's field, to the heights of buildings or the width of roads.

Its basic principle offers the opportunity to determine the latitude, longitude and altitude of an isolated location by measuring it from two or more faint viewpoints. Digital photogrammetry thus builds a network of triangulated measurements, and captures these three-dimensional remote coordinates in relation to their origin environment.

It’s very important for a comprehensive understanding of our actual environment in a timely manner to input accurate and up-to-date source of information. Digital photogrammetry gives much detail for built-up areas emphasis, while emphasis will be on natural resources and features for customers specializing in agriculture and environment. Infoterra's unique process handles very large quantities of data, acquired from many different angles, and builds 3D models.

Infoterra processes vast quantities of stereo pairs. This ability to process vast quantities of stereo pairs for a single point is without parallel in the digital photogrammetry domain. Using high overlap in imagery means that we can correct all distortion including building leaning, thus creating a fully rectified Orthoimage (TrueOrtho™).
