Your fields seen from the sky

For over 8 years, Farmstar has provided a highly detailed field management service that combines high-resolution satellite images with agronomic models.

Infoterra France has worked closely with the ARVALIS - Institut du Végétal to develop this service, which was designed especially for growers and agronomists and notably provides them with management information on inputs, productivity gains and crop yields.

This was done by setting up a complete process that handles each data processing phase, from satellite image acquisition through to supplying customised reference information (depending on the crop type and drilling date), and uses proprietary Infoterra France technologies including Pixel FactoryTM and OverlandTM.

By following Farmstar’s recommendations, growers can optimise their field management and yield while also maintaining the quality of their crops and land.

Growers purchase a subscription from their agricultural cooperative and receive the recommendations (in the form of 3-6 maps per campaign type) either by post or by email. They can also view the recommendations via a Web portal.

The Farmstar service offers the following benefits:

  Improved crop and land quality
  Nitrogen savings
  Environmental protection (Farmstar has been approved by the French Ministry of Agriculture and Chambers of Agriculture)

It also increases cooperatives’ knowledge of all fields that they are responsible for managing.

More than 8,000 growers and agronomists already subscribe to the Farmstar service through approximately 50 cooperatives, representing a total surface area of over 400,000 ha.
