Flood management

Infoterra provides flood management’s assessment for natural disasters.

Managing and sharing risk information is a standard need of risk management communities of actors, at regional or national level. Infoterra France is the prime contractor of the RISK-EOS Stage 2 project, supported by ESA, in which a European consortium advances and implements flood management and fire risk related applications and geoinformation services developed during the first stage of this project.

Infoterra‘s Risk-Eos partners brings rapid mapping for flood management which allows to provide information support during crisis, and to collect observations of the evolution of events as floods. Non-real time mapping of natural disasters using satellite observation data acquired during crisis or available in satellite data archives.

When it is important to get a comprehensive understanding of our actual environment in a timely manner, satellite and aerial imagery provides an extremely valuable source of disaster management processing. The wide range of sensors available today on the market, combined with powerful data processing systems help to rapidly and securely create accurate maps of our ever changing world. The RISK-EOS services combine the use of satellite observation data with exogenous data and modelling techniques to serve the needs of all flood management actors at the European, National and regional levels.
