Flood zone map

Infoterra provides a range of sensors combined with powerful data processing systems help to rapidly and securely create accurate flood zone maps

Through both its continued effort in Research and Development, Infoterra France has developed unique expertise in analysing land cover in general and especially to monitor flood zone maps.

The company has especially taken a leading role in the GMES risk management services through two complementary projects, under the EURORISK banner: Infoterra France is the prime contractor of the RISK-EOS Stage 2 project, supported by ESA, in which a European consortium advances and implements the flood risk and fire risk related applications and geoinformation services developed during the first stage of this project.

The RISK-EOS services combine the use of satellite observation data with exogenous data and modelling techniques to provide flood zone map and serve the needs of all risk management actors at the European, National and regional levels. Infoterra France is also the coordinator of the PREVIEW project, within the 6th Framework Programme, which proposes a European-wide approach for the development, deployment and operation of new and enhanced information services for risk management. Service providers, users, manufacturers, operators and scientists aim to harmonise the tools used in order to obtain better forecasts and more efficient flood zone map.
