Infoterra France, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eads Astrium has been created by the merge of Istar and of teams from Astrium’s Earth Observation Srvices division specialising in risk management services and the development of agricultural and environmental protection information services.

Infoterra France offers a wide range of risk management services to suit applications contexts of all dimensions: from preventing and anticipating risks, managing crisis situations, and building up experience so as to be better prepared. A communication mode for difficult conditions allows remaining in contact in all situations. Among other things, this function enables the safety of external support personnel from risk management services to monitor the movements of vehicles and resources, but also monitor and communicate with individuals equipped with special light equipment, helping them sharing relevant information in real-time through a distributed system.

In the crisis phase, risk management services provide interactive creation and maintenance of the tactical situation. The user can specify the crisis type, the intervention area, the resources involved etc. This information which is shared by all teams involved in risk management services is up-dated according to the feedback from the field and situation evolutions.
