Satellite images

Infoterra uses state-of-the-art aerial cameras for satellite images

When it is essential to get the most value from aerial or satellite images, Infoterra France provides unsurpassed solutions for mapping data, with excellent geometry and rapid delivery. Our reference mapping data offering includes customized, modular, scalable layers that can be either ordered separately or as a packaged solution. From the initial flight plan design to the actual airborne survey, our team can manage the whole data acquisition process including flight authorisations, ground control points collection, data transfer and all other technical aspects.

Photogrammetry is used to measure the precise dimensions of surface of our Earth, such as the area of a farmer's field, to the heights of buildings or the width of roads. Its basic principle is to determine the latitude, longitude and altitude of a remote location by measuring it from two or more distant viewpoints. By using high resolution satellite images from at least two different locations, "lines of sight" can be measured from the sensor(s) to points on the distant object. Photogrammetry thus builds a network of triangulated measurements, and captures these three-dimensional remote coordinates in relation to their origin environment.
